I'm not convinced that my ego will be boosted by this velcro contraption, nor do I necessarily wish to have the attention of a chap also sporting one with his underwear.

Is it just me or does that "contraption" seem to push the glop down around the hips and butt?
And just what exactly is that "chap" trying to see?
So, basically, it's a girdle, right? It is, it's a girdle, just without the straps to hold up your nylons! And by advertising it as a weight-loss gimmick, they can hook the guys, too, and convince them that they're not really wearing a girdle at all.
