When Timmy told the class that he and Ray were staring a band, they really meant it. Bands brought fast women, fast money, and fast times at Ridgemont High. But when the class actually heard their spirited rendition of Rocky Top, it didn't have quite the rock star effect both boys had dreamt about. The jeers rang in their ears until they cried in their root beers....which, ironically, would later be the song to induct them in the Grand Ole Opry.
