The trio knew that the public's innate fascination with sisters perusing large tomes would render any objections to their continued use of the Trio designation moot.
Douglas Adams always insisted that his five-book Hitchhiker's Guide series still counted as a trilogy even after he wrote the final two books. I guess trilogies are flexible things.
