That summer Rex and Ernie were each determined to win the Milkin' Contest at the grange fair. First prize this year was a date with Edna McGinty, 300 pounds of all woman thanks to the prize-winnin' peach cobbler she dished up daily. Bossy and Daisy mooed with discomfort at the earnest milking that day, but Edna was hungry, and she was ready for a real man.
