Recipe: Chile Con Carne


1 pound ground beef
3 tablespoons of butter
1 onion, chopped
1 can of kidney beans
1 can of cream of tomato soup
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 tsp chili powder

Brown beef in skillet with butter and chopped onion. Add kidney beans and stir for several minutes. Pour soup over this. Add salt and chili powder. Simmer for 15-25 minutes. The chili powder may be omitted if desire, and a dash of black pepper substituted. Serve with boiled potatoes or on top of a pile of boiled rice.
