"BURN! BURN!"

She focused all of her energy on that beige receiver, clutched by Mother's freshly manicured hand.

The hand began to tremble uncontrollably, the metal and plastic searing into her flesh. Mother could not drop the phone. The force was much too strong.

Mother had angered her one too many times that afternoon. But now, this was her chance to get back at her, for the screaming, the cruelty.
