The medical prognosis for Maggie was grim: yes, making that face at her mother DID end up in "freezing that way." It was unfortunate she had been in that position during the transformation, but little could be done.

"This is the chair Aunt Sally was sitting in when she died. Mommy says it's haunted and at night she can hear Aunt Sally in the chair, choking to death on that ham sammich. Mommy has a bottle of pills by her bed, wanna go see?"
