Crimson and Clover

When most people hear the adjective "Victorian," most people get sweet little visions of rose-damask, lacy things, tinkling the old spinet, and demure, pompadoured ladies resting on chaise lounges in beautiful dresses and button boots. What most people forget is the little things that made Victorian life so damn weird: laudanum addictions, a low life expectancy, a fascination of death, making jewellery from people's hair, and underground perversions of the "French Postcard" persuasion. Hot mama!
And then...there was freaky shit like this. Was this an absinthe trip gone illustrated?
